I Shop and I Conquer!

Going back to Hong Kong (2nd home)  is never complete without hoarding  the stuff I want. I admit I don't always go out when I'm home in Philippines. But when you bring me to HK I'm not the same person you know back there. LOL! I transform from home buddy to a shopaholic! Blame it on the H. hahahahaha!

Anyway, here's my conservative (daw) haul from my last trip
Yummy nail polishes (I'll swatch them tomorrow promise)

Batiste Dry shampoo- hope this one works for me.

GOSH Natural touch foundation finally I've got one on my shade!!! Hurray!
I've been longing to try this one since  last year, but my shade is always out of stock every time I visit my fave shop .

The Bourjois lip cream  these babies looks promising!

Ooh these are travel size nail files I got from a pharmacy shop.

Of course I won't go home without my  MAC- Tried to pass on some MAC make up collection lately but I always get one or 2 nail polish if they are available.

Tony Moly  Peeling Liquid this one promises to take off some stubborn dry skin on you soles and reveal your baby skin. We'll see if it will live up to its claim.

Fairy drop Mascara-
Again,I got curious about this because  lots of my clients order this from me. Hmmm... lets try it and see if it works.  Hopefully it won't smudge on me.

Noir Blanc Instant Clean Polish Remover just incase I ran out of my currently fave

Chanel Lip Lacquer Dragon,
Matte Lumier Foundie,
Coromandel nail lacquer
and Giorgio Armani Fabric Blusher #5

Scholls Party feet  Blister Plaster.
This I always have in my Bag just in case I wore the wrong shoes or I walked a lot of miles and damage my skin.  This comes in very handy.

It this thats about it folks.

Tune in for some reviews on these babies soon!

Find myself liking NYX Nail polish!

I bought some NYX nail polishes about 3 months ago to my friend  digital traincase but never had a chance to use or even swatch them as I became too preoccupied with so many things.

Anyway, today I had the leisure of playing with them. You know I love light colored polishes rights? So first I did.

Drop of Dew- Nice pale pink finish  Love the clean color on my tips

Bella is a soft barely there pink finish that I think I'm going to sport it more often.

Pink Note is really pink for me

Lastly Lapis - oh! It's love at first sight.

There was a nice feeling when I put these polishes on. The brush glides smoothly and the bristles fans out without a problem. Surely I got streaks on the light colored ones but that's expected to all light colored polishes correct?

What  I also love about NYX polishes is  that aside for the fact that it belongs to a considered cheap brand, it doesn't have that awful smell  that I usually get from the other brands on the same category.

Hey! For a Php 150.00 a pop I think it's good enough.  hmmm....  what more can you ask for, right?

want more NYC nail polish!

Grabbed these beautiful bottles from Target during our trip in US, thinking that maybe I could paint my nails on a not so busy day. But nope I wasn't able to do them due to hectic sched. And so they were tucked away and waited until I arrived home in Laguna.

L to R is Black Lace Cremee, Starry Silver Glitter, Pink Promenade, Skin Tight Denim Creme, Taxi yellow Creme.

Before I tried all of them I searched for review about NYC nail polishes and I saw that most of the girls who tried them were not happy about this product and so I told myself for US$ 0.99 what do I expect.

Anyway, here's what I can say

I like Pink promenade creme as it is a vibrant pink but not too shocking as other vibrant pink that I know.

Skin Tight Denim creme only took me one application to show off that shiny chrome finish.

Black Lace creme took me about 3 to 4 coats before it should its true color.

And Taxi Yellow  took 3 coats to  cover that streaky effect. Well most of the light shaded n/p's  that I have are streaky anyway so streaks are not new to me.

Starry Silver  Glitter is nice as the glitters are not big for my small nails.

So here's my NYC skittles!!!!

Pros:

*No foul smell unlike other cheap products that I've tried before. Love Love Love!
*Quick drying
*No chipping for 3days in a row of cleaning, washing and scrubbing.
*Cheap  $0.99/ bottle

Cons:
*Not locally available
*Needs 2 to 4 coats to show off their color

Lorac Take A Brow kit Review

I became a brow user ever since some lady in the parlor accidentally over threaded my brows over 10years ago. From them onwards without a brow liner  I felt like this face is incomplete.  Just like what other ladies say when they don't put on their mascara or their lipstick on. Yup, I can leave the house without lipstick or powder on but not without my "Kilay". ha ha ha!

Anyway, some two weeks ago I lost or let's just say someone liked my MAC brow kit and took it away with her after cleaning our hotel room.  Yeah! Naughty little B took my KILAY with her! And so the whole time in NAPA Valley I was Kilay-less". Shocking isn't it!

So the rest of our stay in NAPA I was on huge sunglasses! ha ha ha! Thanks to a friends advise. =P

But I really couldn't live without it and so before heading home to my cousins' house, hubby dropped me  by Sephora to get my new "Kilay". Love him for being so supportive. =)

I asked the cutes MUA in the counter to help me out choose and she recommended me This Lora Take a brow kit.
Description
The Lorac Take a Brow Kit includes two shades of brow powder, wax enhancer and an applicator brush.
The Lorac Take a Brow Kit features two shades of brow powder hand-picked by makeup artist Carol Shaw. With these colors and the clear brow wax you can create flawless, red carpet brows. Compact includes applicator brush.

  • Powder duo and clear brow wax enhancer

  • Colors and defines without flaking

  • Named after hair color

  • Directions
Using the mini angle brush, apply the powder shades individually or blend together for the perfect custom brow color. Softly define and blend brow powder shade(s) following the shape of your natural brow. Apply clear brow wax with mini angle brush to set.

    Swatches

The shades are so pigmetned that you only need to dab a little or else you'll pick up too much powder and you'll end up with a very strong brow upon application.  Sadly I couldn't use the small brush that comes with it because it was too small for my long finger. So I used my small The Face Shop angled brush.

About the shades : on the left lighter color is too light for me to use I'm not sure if I'll be using that soon. unless I change my hair color into a lighter tone but it's good to have it there.

The ones on the right side is my color as it suit the color of my eyes and my hair color. As I said the product is so pigmented that all you have to do is dab your brush gently on the wax then on the powder.

I only do my kilay once a day as I'm lazy doing that touch up thing.

    here  is Kilay-less

    To my Kilay-YES!

    Tha's better isn't it?

Will I purchase the product again? YES, just wish it available locally.

    Pros:
    Super pigmented
    easy to use
Stays in place and lasts a long time

    Cons:
    Not  locally available
    Price is  steep for US$ 22.00 = Php 950.00
Little brush won't do any use
