Simple Review: Gentle Cleansers

During my early days I don't care less. I played softball from from high school til college and my skin hasn't touched any of the so called sunscreen at all. Yes for almost 8 years of playing softball under the sun I haven't tried putting on sunscreen. Why? Again that's because I don't like the sticky feeling  So as a result I ended up with uneven skin tone here and there. On  my arms and neck. Majority of course on my face. I  a little bit of everything. Broken capillaries on the center of my face and some some  freckles too.  Imagine that huh.

Anyways, so with these on my face, another addiction of mine is finding a good cleanser. Skin care for me is very important as I have sensitive skin. I easily go red on most products especially the ones with alcohol in them. So here's a couple of cleanser I use over the years.

Lactacyd Baby Bath Php 175.00 *****
( availabale at mercury drugstore & grocery stores nationwaide)
Lactacyd Baby Bath maintains the natural acidic pH that keeps skin soft, supple and smooth.
Ingredients  extracted  from  milk. daily  use  of  Lactcyd  baby  bath  maintains  the  natural  acidic  ph  that  keeps  skin  soft .  supple  and  smooth  .  BABY  BATH   Cleanses  throughly  and  gently  without  stripping  skin  of  it’s  natural  protective  layer.  it  nourishes  and  protects  baby’s  skin  by  strengthening it’s  natural  defenses. In  pediatrics  ,  use  as  daily  bath  for  infant  hygene ,  diaper  rash ,  wet  dernatis  and  pricky  heat. used  as  antiseptic  isn  dermatology  such  as  dermatis ,  pruritis ,  mycosis ,  eczema , intertrigo  and  seborrhea ( dandruft)

Yes I use a baby wash on my face. As per dermatologists lactic acid is good for the skin. Lactacyd also has that ph balance taht doesn't irritate skin and truly it reduced the redness of my face. it also give that natural glow are using it.

What i also like with Lactacyd is it also mes in small bottle taht I can bring around espcially when i travel.

2nd is

Use morning and night. Apply with a cotton pad or with fingertips by massaging in light circular movements. Tissue off gently without rubbing. Use Avene Thermal Spring Water to rinse off as tap water may irritate the skin further. Follow with Skin Recovery Cream.

Cetaphil Gentle Skin cleanser ***
Item description

As gentle as it gets.

Cetaphil® Gentle Skin Cleanser is great for daily makeup removal. Originally formulated for dermatologists, this cleanser is gentle on your skin and sensitive to your skin’s needs. Cetaphil® Gentle Skin Cleanser will not strip the skin of natural protective oils or emollients, or disturb the skin’s natural pH balance. This dermatologist-recommended cleanser is fragrance-free and non-comedogenic. Cetaphil® Gentle Skin Cleanser is gentle enough for children, teens and adults.

I used Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser too. I tested it for a couple of months to see what will it do to me but I find that it doesn't really clean my face as thorough as the Avene & Lactacyd . I have to wash my face 2x with it  before I can totally say I'm satisfied.  It also feels oily of my face so I gave it up and jut use this on my body when my skin feels dry.

So far I'm satisfied with 2 of my gentle cleansers Lactacyd Baby Wash &  Avene Extremely Gentle Cleanser, how about you?

 What's you favorite cleanser?

XOXO

RAVE: ReveN Bath My Konjac 6 Wave Face & body Sponge

For years, I've been on a look out for facial and body sponge. I tried  all sorts of  sponges and scrubs but still I ended up with broken or irritated skin and it causes my skin to dry and breaking out.

Then I got curious with ReveN  Bath My konjac Sponge.  I did my research and read lots of good reviews about konjac sponges and finally I gave in and order the product all the way to Indonesia. ( thought the product is originally from Korea)

Product says:
100% natural fibre
100% Biodegradable
Soft & Gentle
Ph balanced
Naturally deep Cleansing
Kind to mother earth

Sponge for all skin types & safe for babies and children. It is designed to gently exfoliate, soothe, and cleanse all over.

Exfoliate is vital to maintaining clear, healthy skin but is often a step we forget at shower or bath time.

Best for scrubbing … A great scrub not only will slough away dead skin cells but also stimulates skin so that more blood flows to that area, leaving your legs polished and primed for increased moisturizer absorption, and giving a healthy glow. Also helping reduce blemishes.
Cleanses, exfoliates, removes excess oil.
Delicate on baby's skin
Good for hypersensitive skin and teenage skin suffering from acnes and breakouts.

All in all My Konjac Sponge  is Ideal for the whole Family.

The sponge is as big as my palm, which is just a good size for me.
My Konjac Sponge is 100% eco friendly and  each sponge could last for about 3-4 months.

All I have to do is  soak the sponge in water until it absorbs the liquid. Then squeeze it and then start scrubbing on a circle motion. I could use this sponge with or without a gentle cleanser as this sponge has an alkaline on its own so it really cleanses the skin. AMAZING Isn't it?

Safe to scrub on your skin without feeling of roughness.

After use I just have to hang it for air drying or if I wanted to make sure that it's clean
I could sanitize it by just  steaming it on a microwave for a minute or two. Easy does it. =))

here's a closer look  on the sponge.

Over all I am happy with  ReveN Bath My konjac  6 wave face & body sponge. Priced at Php 450.00. It definitely delivers all its  promises of clean and softness. Available in 5 variants that targets different kind of skin problems. you can order it via Updated Trends

RAVE: Proactiv 3 step System to clear skin

I've seen Jennifer Love Jewitt,  Avril Lavigne and Justine Bierber advert about his product and I though   does this product really work? They are so pricey but I'm willing to give it a try.

Then my 15 year old daughter had a massive zit attack on her forehead for almost a year now and it doesn't go away.

Knowing how skin go crazy on this stage of adolescence. I panicked and try to find some remedy on my daughter's escalating skin condition.

Here's she covering her  forehead with loads of hair.

No parent would like to see their daughter suffer from pimple scars until they grows up.

So I decided to get her some Proactiv products for her to try.

Product says:

Our micro-crystal medicine and 24/7 Skin Care Advisor support for ActivMembers™ are just two parts of our more powerful, more complete acne treatment.

Renew
  • This medicated Renewing Cleanser is made with new, exclusive micro-crystal benzoyl peroxide - featuring smaller, finer particles designed to quickly penetrate pores to start killing acne-causing bacteria on contact. Tiny exfoliating beads gently remove dirt, excess oil and dead skin cells to help keep pores from clogging.

Directions:
  • Use twice daily, morning and night.
  • Treat whole face. Dampen skin.
  • Apply a small amount (dime size) with gentle fingertip massage for 1-2 minutes.
  • Rinse thoroughly with warm water. Pat dry.

Revitalize
  • This refreshing, alcohol-free toner helps remove impurities and excess oil so your skin looks and feels clean, soft and refreshed -- not tight and dried out. Soothing botanical agents gently balance your skin tone.

Directions:
  • Use twice daily, morning and night.
  • Treat whole face. Apply small amount (dime size) with cotton ball or pad.
  • Allow to dry. Do not rinse off.

Repair
  • The repairing acne treatment is a feather-light medicated treatment that gets deep into clogged pores faster but is designed to be gentler on the skin. It's an oil-free formula that's safe for your entire face.

Directions:
  • Use twice daily, morning and night.
  • Apply small amount (pea size) with fingertips on any affected areas.
  • Allow to dry. Do not rinse off.

There's also a refining mask but I'm not so sure if she uses this one though.

This therapeutic clay mask is designed to soothe irritation and heal blemishes—as well as to help keep breakouts from getting started.
Benefits:
  • Blemish-free skin is good. But flawless, radiant skin is better.
  • Fans call it their "secret weapon." Allure Magazinecalls it "best of beauty."
  • A 6% concentration of antibacterial sulfur works as part of our Combination Therapy® to heal and help prevent acne.
  • Vitamin-enriched omegas help keep skin balanced and toned.
  • Put the clay mask on your face, put your feet up for 15 minutes, then rinse it off.
  • That’s all it takes to see radiant, healthier-looking skin, with refined texture and tone, reduced appearance of pores and wonderful clarity.
  • Use it two or three times a week and we promise, your skin will thank you.
  • Just a dab works wonders as an overnight treatment for stubborn pimples.

I bought this set  in HK for HKD 699.00 about Php 4,194.00 approximately.

Anyway, after 2months of using Proactiv.

Here's a photo my teenager in two weeks ago.

Sorry the photo was taken quite blurry  I have to zoom it in. =))

But nevertheless. I can see that my teenager is more confident now than before and she loves it! =))

So Proactive is a rumor  that really works after all.

Have you tried Proactiv? What can you say about it?
