For the longest time I've been looking for products that would keep my oils at bay. I've tried most of the products I could get my hands on just to get that no oil look. But most of them only last a couple of hours and I'm back looking like a greasy frying pan. =P

So I found another product that promises to keep me away from the horrible greasy look. I actually purchased this item few months ago but because of the storm in NYC my shipment got delayed and I just arrived on my doorstep 4days ago.

So  I would like to give you a simple review about FACE ATELIER ULTRA MATTE mattifying spray.

I first saw Face Atelier on Gossmakeupartist  you tube and I though I'd really like to try this product.

With All this on its CV I was  SOLD but in a way a little hesitant, thinking that maybe FA Ultra Matte is just like any other brand that promises but never delivers. But I was wrong.

My vierdict: It really delivers its promise. I sprayed Ultra Matte once on my bare face waited for it to dry about 8 to 10 mins.(down side when used as a base)  Once it's dry I saw that my face looks fresh and no trace of oil. Amazing indeed yeah? But I still have to put on make up so that's another test. Then I started applying make up and then set it with another sprit of the FA Ultra Matte and waited for it to dry for another 8-10 mins and viola!

Fresh, no greasy looking me! It's settles on my skin lightly too!

I tested it how long will it keep me looking fresh and clean, and  for the whole day I only did minor blotting once and that is after 8hours!!!  That for me is a HUGE +!

So for this review I think I'm hooked and I think I won't be without Face Atelier Ultra Matte Mattifying spray from now on.

Simple Review: MUA LIP BOOM by Make Up Academy Professional

You know how addicted I am to lipstick and I have about more than 60 lippie on my vanity and some on my bag and purse. ( hopefully hubby doesn't read this or else ha ha ha!) but this doesn't stop me from acquiring more of them as I'm a lippie kind of gal. I seldom put make up on but lipstick I've got to have it.
In my bag I have about 2 or 3 lippie that I carry everyday. I was even able to be an impromptu make up artist  just by using some of the  lippies I have in my bag.  Talk about diskarte.  lol
I was supposed to be a photographer on this shoot pero the Make up artist wasn't able to make it.
Okay enough of that bragging and let's go to our main issue here.

Today I'm going to give you MUA Lip Boom.

Item Desription

Lipstick and highlighting gloss that creates fuller curvaceous lips for a dramatic illusion of volume. There are 4 amazing ways to transform your lips and give them some Boom!

1. Lipstick alone for a matte look.
2. Lipstick with highlighter applied just to the centre of your lips to create a full volume illusion.
3. Lipstick with highlighter all over for a super-glossy look.
4. Highlighter alone for a sheer pearl finish.

here's my MUA Lip Boom collection

L to R: OMG, Doin' Good, Ok.Com,  It's a Situation, Cheeky, Vibe and Bring it.

I've read some reviews about this stuff and some says Yay and some says Nay. Again the curiousity in me kicked in and ordered most the shades.

I haven't swatched all of them yet but I've already tried Doin Good on today( 2nd photo from L on the above).

Gliding the stick on lips feels good. Application is neither thick nor heavy. It actually feels light and sometimes I don't feel like  I'm wearing a lipstick. Compared to some matte lippies that I have, this is really light.  Color is matte yes but the finish is like velvet matte on my lips. If  you guys tried Chanel RA velvet line Which we all love, that's the  kind of finish I got from it. Nice isn't it?

I drank from the glass there's just a little transfer of the lippie. I also don't have  retouch after eating lunch. Another Yay for that.

Now for the Gloss. Well the gloss is not really my thing but since the lippie comes with it and I'm doing this review I might as well include it.

The only downside of this product is  the shimmery lipgloss because I'm not really fond of shimmery lippie. So I don't think I'd be able to use them. Yes, this is just me being OC.

And also the gloss  has this tiny bit of buttery vanilla scent that I can smell during application.  But I'm not really bothered with that. So that's okay. The gloss for me is not too thick or sticky, yes I know you'd ask me something and the answer is  NO definitely not as thick and sticky  as MAC lip glass for sure. =))

Over all I would say I really like  this collection of MUA Lip Boom. (Except for the lipgloss.)
but with the  price of only Php 280.00 a pop. How can you say no to that, right?  =)

XOXO

Simple Review: SLEEK CORRECTOR & CONCEALER PALETTE

Today I'm gonna give you a simple review about Sleek Make Up Corrector & Concealer palette.

Yes another Sleek Make Up to review I know. As you can see Sleek MakeUp is now my staple or go to makeup product for a year now. Love them to bits because they don't cost an arm and a leg like other brand. Product also delivers what it says. And with its mid range price?
I can proudly say I can collect them all without hurting my wallet or even I don't have to smash my piggy bank just to get it.. =)

Anyway back to our review

Item Says:
The ultimate concealer palette containing a corrector, concealer and setting powder in one handy compact, perfect for on-the-go touch up's.
The brightening properties within the corrector give an instant lift to the eye area, whilst the concealer neutralises discolouration leaving you looking wide awake and flawless. Use the light setting powder to hold the concealer in place.
Both the concealer and powder contain SPF15. Price at 650.00 locally or USD 9.99 via Sleek Make Up UK.

Packaging
All Sleek make up packaging are  sturdy. I love the matte black compact as its very elegant and sleek looking. It's flat that you can easily slip it on your bag pocket without a hassle specially if you need to do some touch up. It also has a mirror just like its blushes and iDivine palette that I really find it so convenient especially when I'm not in front of my vanity.
Note : That I swatched this product on a  BARE face before I review
The corrector for the eye area is quite impressive. It's not too creamy and not too thick that I can easily apply and blend. I can also build how much product I want to put in your eye area. Doesn't give you that white film around the eyes as it blends well on skin.

swatches: Corrector, Concealer & Light powder on my arm
The concealer is also good that I only need a small dab on to the palette to conceal the redness of my face, marks and imperfections. It's also not sticky and is very easy to apply.(I posted before that I despise sticky products)  I only use dabbing motion on to my face and the product blends in naturally.
The only down side I see is using it on my bare face alone  I find out that it doesn't totally cover the dark marks around my lip but I'm sure it'll cover if I put on foundation first.
The Light setting powder  blends on my skin instantly it doesn't give me that obvious powder  look dabbed on to my skin which I find it great.

Over all I think Sleek make up impressed once me again with this palette and it's price. Great to use everyday as it doesn't feel heavy on skin and goo to keep inside my bag for minor concealing during the day.

XOXO

Simple Review: Bioderma Crealine Make Up Remover

Before anything else I really would like to thank the famous  Lisa Eldridge for this recommendation. This product is heaven sent to all of us make up junkies. Thanks for introducing us to Bioderma and to all other fabulous products. =)

Today is Bioderma day! The infamous make up remover that's making a huge noise in the make up and skin care industry nowadays. Or if I'm wrong most probably for a huge number of months now as I have been living under the rock lately. =P

Bioderma Crealine H2O

Product Description

Crealine H2O make-up remover and cleansing solution, without perfume for fragile skin and fine skin cleansing. Face and eye make-up removal. Rash, blotches..

Solution of fatty acid esters, both emulgatory and filmogenous, enables dirt to be emulsified and surface hydrolipidic film to be reconstituted.

Soothing and emolliant, thanks to cucumber extract.

Non detergent, non foaming, neutral pH. Soap free.

From the description itself  I was skeptical to get it at first as I really need to see how this thing works. Plus it wan't available locally, but when I saw Lisa Eldridge's beauty video on how to use Bioderma Make up remover  and how she adore it, I was at awe. Telling myself  that "If this is how easy it works I gotta have it". True enough I got it. Then Lo & behold thanks to my dear friend and partner Sol of Digital Traincase who brought Bioderma  here in the Philippines! Yay!

With Bioderma on hand,  it only took me a few minutes to take off all that make up on my face and I also love that it doesn't feel greasy on me. I know I told you this a dozen times but I hate  the feeling of stickiness on my skin or on my body. I  also just took off my make up without tugging or pulling my skin. Now that for me is superb specially when it comes to taking off mascara. You all know that I use fiber mascaras so using warm water alone takes it off easily, I tell you this is same with using Bioderma. no mess no smudge and  yes without a trace!  I utterly love this product. After taking off my make up I just have to wash my face using My konjac sponge and my gentle cleanser and viola! Sleek & clean face!

Call me exaggerated but I tell you Bioderma Crealine Make Up remover really works.

                                                                          XOXO

Simple Review: Gentle Cleansers

During my early days I don't care less. I played softball from from high school til college and my skin hasn't touched any of the so called sunscreen at all. Yes for almost 8 years of playing softball under the sun I haven't tried putting on sunscreen. Why? Again that's because I don't like the sticky feeling  So as a result I ended up with uneven skin tone here and there. On  my arms and neck. Majority of course on my face. I  a little bit of everything. Broken capillaries on the center of my face and some some  freckles too.  Imagine that huh.

Anyways, so with these on my face, another addiction of mine is finding a good cleanser. Skin care for me is very important as I have sensitive skin. I easily go red on most products especially the ones with alcohol in them. So here's a couple of cleanser I use over the years.

Lactacyd Baby Bath Php 175.00 *****
( availabale at mercury drugstore & grocery stores nationwaide)
Lactacyd Baby Bath maintains the natural acidic pH that keeps skin soft, supple and smooth.
Ingredients  extracted  from  milk. daily  use  of  Lactcyd  baby  bath  maintains  the  natural  acidic  ph  that  keeps  skin  soft .  supple  and  smooth  .  BABY  BATH   Cleanses  throughly  and  gently  without  stripping  skin  of  it’s  natural  protective  layer.  it  nourishes  and  protects  baby’s  skin  by  strengthening it’s  natural  defenses. In  pediatrics  ,  use  as  daily  bath  for  infant  hygene ,  diaper  rash ,  wet  dernatis  and  pricky  heat. used  as  antiseptic  isn  dermatology  such  as  dermatis ,  pruritis ,  mycosis ,  eczema , intertrigo  and  seborrhea ( dandruft)

Yes I use a baby wash on my face. As per dermatologists lactic acid is good for the skin. Lactacyd also has that ph balance taht doesn't irritate skin and truly it reduced the redness of my face. it also give that natural glow are using it.

What i also like with Lactacyd is it also mes in small bottle taht I can bring around espcially when i travel.

2nd is

Avene  Extremely Gentle Cleanser cost around Hk$200.00 ****

A no-rinse cleanser formulated for sensitive and intolerant skin that cleanses skin, reducing the risk of reactions

Benefits

  • Minimum ingredients for maximum efficacy
  • Soothes and cleanses highly sensitive and intolerant skin
  • Non-irritating and non-inflammatory
  • Gentle formulation leaves skin nourished and balanced
  • Fragrance, paraben and soap free

How to use

Use morning and night. Apply with a cotton pad or with fingertips by massaging in light circular movements. Tissue off gently without rubbing. Use Avene Thermal Spring Water to rinse off as tap water may irritate the skin further. Follow with Skin Recovery Cream.

I love to use this product when I'm in a hurry or when I'm too tired to cleanse.  No need for water. I just lather it up on my skin and wipe it off with a tissue and viola! Clean face in an instant!

Cetaphil Gentle Skin cleanser ***
Item description

As gentle as it gets.

Cetaphil® Gentle Skin Cleanser is great for daily makeup removal. Originally formulated for dermatologists, this cleanser is gentle on your skin and sensitive to your skin’s needs. Cetaphil® Gentle Skin Cleanser will not strip the skin of natural protective oils or emollients, or disturb the skin’s natural pH balance. This dermatologist-recommended cleanser is fragrance-free and non-comedogenic. Cetaphil® Gentle Skin Cleanser is gentle enough for children, teens and adults.

I used Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser too. I tested it for a couple of months to see what will it do to me but I find that it doesn't really clean my face as thorough as the Avene & Lactacyd . I have to wash my face 2x with it  before I can totally say I'm satisfied.  It also feels oily of my face so I gave it up and jut use this on my body when my skin feels dry.

So far I'm satisfied with 2 of my gentle cleansers Lactacyd Baby Wash &  Avene Extremely Gentle Cleanser, how about you?

 What's you favorite cleanser?

Simple Review on : VICHY DERMABLEND CORRECTIVE FOUNDATION

For a person not a huge fan of liquid foundation I tell you have a few of them on my stash. I think around 4 or 5 of them but anyhoo. I only use them on times I really need a good cover up as I get some zits or breakouts from time to time and when I attend some function I'd rather conceal them with liquid rather than powder ones. I find F also lighter on my skin and then just pat it with a little powder.

Today I'd like to give you a simple review on VICHY Dermablend. Yes I also watched Liza Eldridge's blog. he he he! I got so curious about this product as she described it as one of her favorite and only needs a small amount to conceal all skin imperfections and it's buildable so I bought it at Watson's while I was in HK during Christmas. There's only 2 shades available to one is Opal light color and  Nude medium. I find nude a bit too dark for me so I took Opal shade that matches more of my neck color  for HK$ 210.00

Item Description
A smooth blendable texture that glides on evenly leaving the skin with a natural, lightweight flawless finish. Recommended for minor to moderate skin imperfections such as redness, acne scars and pigmentation disorders. Moisturizing all day long. With the soothing properties of Vichy Thermal Water. 12 hours of long-lasting flawless wear (16 hours with Setting Powder)

Innovation: A total coverage foundation that respects the skin

Results: Skin imperfections are perfectly concealed with an even and natural looking complexion.

Dermatological Standards: Allergy tested. Tested on sensitive skin. Tested on sensitive eyes and contact lenses wearers. Fragrance free. Dermatologist tested. Ophthalmologist tested. Non-comedogenic.

Vichy's consistency light  and  not so thick. really easily to apply. Coverage is medium to heavy and buildable.  Best to use fingers rather than sponge as the latter will just suck up the product and you would tend to use more and product will run out in no time. it also gives that semi-matte finish that won't leave you skin looking flat.

I have red spots on the center of my face specially around the nose area. I always have to to check on this one from time to time as pat some powder on  as this  part of my face part also tends to be oily. But I noticed with Vichy  Demablend is I don't need to use concealer after application, which is really good for me as I don't have to use another product to hide the redness of my face.

Staying power is good too. Vichy to me last a good 5- 6 hours no oiliness and almost no transfer when I blot my face during the day.  Another thumbs up for that

The only down side that I see is it only has 2 shades available and  it's not locally available other than that  I'd definitely recommend you to get this one.
Overall id recommend this product to everyone who needs to conceal skin imperfactions like scars, acne marks, redness or rosacea.

Have you tried Vichy's Dermablend Corrective Foundation?
