Simple Review on : VICHY DERMABLEND CORRECTIVE FOUNDATION

 For a person not a huge fan of liquid foundation I tell you have a few of them on my stash. I think around 4 or 5 of them but anyhoo. I only use them on times I really need a good cover up as I get some zits or breakouts from time to time and when I attend some function I'd rather conceal them with liquid rather than powder ones. I find F also lighter on my skin and then just pat it with a little powder. 

Today I'd like to give you a simple review on VICHY Dermablend. Yes I also watched Liza Eldridge's blog. he he he! I got so curious about this product as she described it as one of her favorite and only needs a small amount to conceal all skin imperfections and it's buildable so I bought it at Watson's while I was in HK during Christmas. There's only 2 shades available to one is Opal light color and  Nude medium. I find nude a bit too dark for me so I took Opal shade that matches more of my neck color  for HK$ 210.00

Vichy's consistency light  and  not so thick. really easily to apply. Coverage is medium to heavy and buildable.  Best to use fingers rather than sponge as the latter will just suck up the product and you would tend to use more and product will run out in no time. it also gives that semi-matte finish that won't leave you skin looking flat.

I have red spots on the center of my face specially around the nose area. I always have to to check on this one from time to time as pat some powder on  as this  part of my face part also tends to be oily. But I noticed with Vichy  Demablend is I don't need to use concealer after application, which is really good for me as I don't have to use another product to hide the redness of my face. 

Staying power is good too. Vichy to me last a good 5- 6 hours no oiliness and almost no transfer when I blot my face during the day.  Another thumbs up for that

The only down side that I see is it only has 2 shades available and  it's not locally available other than that  I'd definitely recommend you to get this one. 

Overall id recommend this product to everyone who needs to conceal skin imperfactions like scars, acne marks, redness or rosacea.

Simple Review on Sleek Glisten Me Liquid Illuminator

Hello there! I know it's been a while and I've been very preoccupied with a lot of happenings in my life (Family  and business). So my apologies if I haven't posted anything for a long long time.

Anyways, for the longest time I've been lemming for Sleek Make Up's Glisten me Liquid Illuminator. I can't decide which one to get so I got both Empress & Goddess!  I've read so much great reviews about it so I placed an order. Then after a few weeks it finally arrived! Yay!

Sleek Says: "A liquid illuminator with light reflecting mica pigments, Glisten Me Liquid Illuminator is great for highlighting face and body for a glowing appearance." 

See why I got so curious and got them? Packaging wise is very classy. The matte cover and the frosted glass bottle is just says glam! 

It also has a spatula attached to the lid to control how much product you wanted to apply. 

This for me is a plus as always tend to pour a lot. (clumsy me)

Both colors are promising and great for a high lighting someone's great assets and features.  Pigmentation is just right and not overly crazy when applied and lathered evenly. 

Look at those gorgeous colors! This is just a small smudge 

on my skin and both really gave that instant beautiful glow! Yay! 

I can't wait to use these on my 

make up sessions and photoshoots too! Yipee!

For years, I've been on a look out for facial and body sponge. I tried  all sorts of  sponges and scrubs but still I ended up with broken or irritated skin and it causes my skin to dry and breaking out.

All I have to do is  soak the sponge in water until it absorbs the liquid. Then squeeze it and then start scrubbing on a circle motion. I could use this sponge with or without a gentle cleanser as this sponge has an alkaline on its own so it really cleanses the skin. AMAZING Isn't it?

Safe to scrub on your skin without feeling of roughness.   

After use I just have to hang it for air drying or if I wanted to make sure that it's clean 

I could sanitize it by just  steaming it on a microwave for a minute or two. Easy does it. =))

Cold Cloudy Sunday is not my kind of weekend. This is supposed to be a family day so it should be bright and sunny.

I should be relaxing and  listening to cool music while hubby is by my side  reading his book

As promised, here's my review for both items.

When applied I think the slightest difference of this two is the shimmer and that of Horizon somehow produces a slightly dark hues because of its only one darker tone.  But surely this can be attained by Tendres  when applied heavily.

For me  both items are beautiful and supple on my skin.  I really can't choose between the two which one is my favorite  except for the price.

Tendres de Chanel  is HKD 420.00   while Chanel horizon is Hk$ 540.00.

Review: Benefit Bad Gal Lash Mascara

I got this for Christmas last year from a very good friend of mine. I got so excited with I swatched immediately when I got home.
Waaah! This baby is huge! I mean it's bigger than that of a regular size mascara. contains 8 grams of a product so I guess this one is on the advantage yes?

When I first open the wand i remember I got shock when the tip came out. Because the brush is too big. hihihi! 

And when i started applying I was a little bit uncomfortable because I have small eyes and I don't know how to angle my brush so I won't be messing my face with this huge stick. lol


 I was then clumsy that I managed to accidentally swiped some on my eyelid, my nose and some  under my eye. lol!  But  hey! they say practice makes perfect so I managed to apply it properly on my second day. =)))

Advise to myself is don't reach for this baby when in a hurry. ha ha ha! Or else!!! 

Anyway, back to my review. The bristles are also tight to each other and that most of the time cause my lashes to clump. small eyelashes are also hard to reach because to the bristle size. so I have to carefully use the very tip to reach for them. That for me is not so good because I have a very small eyes so there's only a liitle room for error. Q tips are BFF when i use this mascara. to untangle my lashes. It takes  about 3 coats to achieve the  cover, volume and lengthening that I promise but i'm happy with that. Drying time is not too bad also.

That for me is a plus. 

The Bristle is not like any other bristle as it has two sides. Flat with studs and the other with

small bristles.


At first look I though these style of bristles won't do me any good. They're short and flat as see it. but lo and behold they proved me wrong! Blimme! So sorry for down grading you Cybercolor.

The lengthening effect is superb and that volume is pretty impressive. It actually looks like I have false eyelashes on! That for me is another wow!

What else? Drying time is also a plus factor I don't have to worry about blinking too fast and end up with some products on my lower eye. No heavy feeling too.

hmmmm .... no wonder this product got a high remark on HK magazines as one of the best mascara in 2011.

     Remove the wand slowly and carefully from the tube. Don't pump the tube with the wand, as this causes the mascara to dry up quickly, and it leads to clumps forming on the wand.

Bristles are too close to each other that sometimes it causes my lashes to clump while applying but with a little swig on its tip I could untangle them right away. The bended wand helps make my lashes curl just a little bit. I don't curl my lashes so I thinks that's just fine.

Another thing that  really fascinates me are the tiny little strands that I can see on the wand that sometimes I though they're my lashes but no. They're the fiber wigs which give that lengthening effects.

And off course on the  washing off.  Yup, no need for  vigorous rubbing. Just  warm water and  a little bit of cleansing oil  it'll come off easily.

Review: Blinc Kiss Me Mascara

I'm a little bit fussy about my mascara yes because I don't want my lashes to be clumped. Also I tend to rub my eye few times a day and I hate seeing my mascara smudges on my eye bags and looked like I was just punched by someone.

So today, I give you another favorite mascara of mine.

The packaging I love how sleek  metal looking it is. It's not the conventional black color packaging of mascara that I see in most high end brands. Also  I'm not sure but I find this has a little bit of weight because it's feels like a glass tube but not really  made of glass.

The Applicator: Every time I pull the applicator out of the tube I find it so amazing it doesn't have too much product hanging on the tip of it. So that mean it only gets the right amount of product on it for me to use on my peepers which I find it so cool. 

I don't have to tap or swirl  it all the time. And the bristles has a nice wide gap on them that really coats my lashes properly without clumping.

Nice lines!  I messed yup the lower part though. lol 

On the pic above I let the product sit on my skin for a couple of hours after applying. And yet still it hasn't faded, flaked or smudged.  Very good isn't it?

To tell you about how I took it off : I  splashed a bit of water and rubbed it gently.

And Viola !!! See how the magic works? 

No Smudge but just tiny flakes.

Review: Sleek Make Up Magnitude Mascara

Mascara for me is one of the most essential when it comes to make up application. It give's life to my chinita eyes and it makes my lashes thicker and fuller. Hmmm my eyes are what I can say the most expressive and sexy part of my body. Ha Ha ha!

So, today I'll give you a review about what mascara I've been using lately. You see, before I post a review on some products I do test the make up or skin care first for about a  week or so  before I could really tell or give my opinion if the product really is worth it or not. I don't just give it a second chance or third. I'd definitely would like to  give it a week long test runs. Ha! Well, that's just me. 

So Here's what Sleek Make up has to say about this product 

An innovative two step mascara which gives the illusion of false lashes.

The first step lengthens the lashes whilst the second step extends lashes across and upwards to create intense and dramatic lashes.

First apply one coat of the “Lengthening” white base to the lashes, wait for twenty seconds and then apply one coat of the black “Volumising” top coat. 2 x 6.5g 

With this in mind, I did just that

Step 1 : white to lengthen my lashes. (sorry for the crappy eyeliner I honestly didn't apply it properly this time. =P

Then  step 2  to give volume . Hmmm So far so good.  I  first I was hesitant abut this product as I though it would clump my lashes quickly but to be honest I was quite impressed because it didn't. With the right application you'll have no clump at all. And it doesn't feel rubbery on your lashes too. 

Taking it off was no problem too.  Cotton pad with cleansing oil will do it best or just warm water. It'll crumple without making you look like a raccoon! =P 

And so for the effect? 

A happy, sparkly eyed me!!!
